ARE YOU LIVING IN TODAY?

Today is a new day. Tomorrow will be a new day. In each day we must be thankful that we have been given the opportunity one more time to love someone, to comfort someone, to encourage someone, to hug someone.  The problem is, most people don't live in today.  Yesterday is preoccupying them with its troubles and offences.  And worry causes us to live in the tomorrows of what ifs.

The bible says we are to let our light shine.   People need that Light today.  The Light of an all powerful loving God inhabiting our hearts is what people need to see today. GOD is full of compassion and love. In and of ourselves, we have absolutely nothing to offer. But with Him we have much to offer, for His love is all consuming and everlasting. Never apologize for the passion to be more like HIM. I am so not ashamed of my God. Our lives here are but a brief moment in time, a breath, a vapor and then there is eternity which is forever. He so desires that none shall perish, yet many do not hear His voice or seek His face today.

Yes we do now and will continue to face trials and discouragement, yes be prepared to face persecution for who you are in Christ, but through it all He gives us the strength to continue to love others unconditionally despite our weaknesses and their weaknesses. Because that is what Jesus would do, and do you not long to be His example of love?

The bible says God is love. But it also says that He is a “just” God, and because there is no sin in Him, only truth, we can never come to Him without being as a sinner, so that is why He sent His beloved Son Jesus into the world to be our advocate, to die for us.   So understand that when a Holy God looks down from heaven on us, He does not see us and our sin, because we will always be sinners, He sees the shed blood of His son upon us. When we make Jesus Lord over our lives, we have become hidden in Him and there is nothing we need do, other than believe that He is who He is and He did what He did just for me, and for you.

So you see, everyday for us is a great day. Truly it is.  For WE have a hope for eternity.   We all  will someday leave this place and I long to be in that place where there is no pain, no anger, no tears, no suffering.  I long for that day when I will be absent from the body and present with the Lord.  In the meantime, we must live as a people whom the hurting world sees as earthly versions of vessels that God is using to bring glory and honor to His name.

So Rejoice in today.  God is here with us today.  He is not with us yesterday, or tomorrow as we are no longer in yesterday and have not arrived in tomorrow.  Today is the day to have His perfect work made manifest through us to those in our paths so that they may see the LIGHT of LOVE and HOPE in their darkness!
